SheWolf is participating in National Water Dance 2022

On Saturday, April 23, at 4:00pm EST dancers across the United States from Seattle to Mississippi, from Maine to Miami will join together in a nation-wide simultaneous dance event at water sites, rural and urban ,remote and public, bringing attention to our need to be accountable for the water that sustains us.. National Water Dance is an artist-driven collective of dancers, students, educators and community members who create simultaneous performances across the country. We invite everyone to come dance with us- and engage in the actions on climate change that will help bring us back into balance with this precious planet that we all call home.

This year we are excited to welcome Felipe Barral and IGNI Productions who will be live streaming sites all over the country. The live stream will begin at 3:30 with interviews and information about many of the participating organizations as well as environmental issues and a peek into participants’ creative processes. The performance will begin exactly at 4:00pm EST.

Collective action is the only answer to climate change. It’s not one community’s problem. There is no place to run. We are

                                         RUNNING OUT OF TIME

                                             THE TIME IS NOW…

Join Us on April 23, 2022

Dancers are embodying the collective spirit of our movement by weaving into their own choreography a shared movement phrase at the beginning and end of their unique dance. With shared movement performers are drawing together threads from throughout our nation, symbolically expressing our connection to one another and the planet. You can attend a local performance in person or watch online as we will be streaming live from all locations (currently 90+ and counting!).

National Water Dance (NWD), created and directed by Dale Andree, is an artist driven collective of dancers and educators stretching from coast to coast and from Alaska to Florida. NWD creates simultaneous, site-specific performances with movers of all ages and experience, bringing attention to the pressing issues of water in the United States. National Water Dance believes that our environment is the most pressing issue of this generation and that artists need to take the lead in addressing it. As dancers we want to use our bodies to create a community that cries out for action.
