Not at all! We welcome all experience levels. Some folks have danced professionally, some are former dancers, and some are first time movers.
Are men welcome in the community?
Definitely. Although we center those who are marginalized (women, LGTBGQ+, BIPOC), we welcome all who want to get in touch with their Divine Feminine energy, that is regardless of gender expression.
I haven’t danced in a while, how will I keep up?
We approach every event + program with utmost respect to where you are, physically // mentally // emotionally. This work is designed to uplift + build confidence in yourself. We welcome all abilities, bodies, + expressions.
It says artist community, what other arts are included?
We focus on dance + movement in all forms + backgrounds. We also incorporate music, theatre, poetry // spoken word, comedy, visual art (painting, etc.) + film.
What does womxn mean? Does it include me?
Inclusive language is always evolving! This term is used in intersectional feminism as an alternative spelling to avoid the suggestion of sexism perceived in the sequences m-a-n + m-e-n. This term is also inclusive of trans + nonbinary people.
Do I have to be religious to participate?
No, we do not follow any dogmatic beliefs or rigid structures of religious practices. The term “sacred” is used to include all definitions of spirituality + is open to personal interpretation. Our focus is to honor each unique expression + understanding of a greater or higher power.
